How to treat burns
Cool the burn for at least 20 minutes using a cold, flowing liquid. Liquids that can be used include water, milk and lemonade. It is important that this step is completed as quickly as possible.

Step 2: Remove jewellery and loose clothing
Before the area starts to swell, carefully and gently remove any jewellery and clothing. Only do this if it is possible, if jewellery or clothing is stuck to the burns, do not attempt to remove them
Step 3: Cover the burn
Once cooled, cover the burn. Cling film is perfect for this as long as you discard the first couple of layer. You could also use a clean, unused plastic bag. You can also apply a burn soothe dressing at this point,
