Three years (between attending requalification courses) is a long time to remember vital skills that could potentially save a life.
Attending an annual update session is strongly recommended by the HSE.
Our update sessions provide your first aiders with a recap and the opportunity to practise, between requalification courses, the skills they have previously learnt.
Topics covered include:
Assessing the situation in an emergency, administering first aid to a casualty who is: unconscious (including seizures), wounded/ bleeding, in shock or choking, accident reporting, first aid kits and avoiding contamination.
*Please note that an update course does not replace a 3 yearly re-qualification course.
During 2019 we are offering complimentary places on one of our Open Course First Aid update courses for anyone who has previously attended a First Aid course with us and has a valid certificate that was issued between 1st January 2017and 1st January 2018. Please see Open Courses for dates.
(A copy of candidate’s certificate will be needed please.)
