HSE figures from 2020 found that 78% of metal fabrication sites were using Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) to control exposure to welding fumes and metalworking fluids. Pretty good, right?
Well, of those only 50% were using their RPE correctly.
Has the person been face fit tested for that specific RPE?
Is the user trained in how to use the RPE?
Does the person know how to properly don and doff the RPE?
Are filters changed regularly?
Is the equipment up to the job and fit for purpose?
There are so many factors involved in ensuring that RPE is used correctly.
We can assist you with you face fit testing and RPE training, to ensure that you are getting the most out of your protection.
